Comcast Xfinity is partnering with prominent Black Film festivals to create a curated “Black Film Festival Collection” to be featured on Xfinity video platforms, including X1, Flex, Stream, Xumo and video-on-demand service.
The Comcast Xfinity Black Experience Film Festival collection will bring the energy, passion, and community of the Film Festival to TV and mobile devices, showcasing short-and feature-length films and webisodes from past festivals. Comcast continues to be an enthusiastic sponsor of independent Black film festivals and their shared mission with the film festivals is to positively impact the independent Black film industry.
Participation in this collection will provide a great opportunity for filmmakers to introduce their content to a wider audience and for them to receive compensation for licensing your content.
How this will work:
- Homestead Entertainment will provide a way for you to license your films for distribution on Xfinity video platforms. Homestead Entertainment is a Black owned, all rights film distributor with a focus on independent Black films and Video-On-Demand.
- Qualifying films will receive payment from Homestead Entertainment based on the length of the film. There will be a bonus payment for films which won awards at the festival.
- Homestead will be your point of contact for licensing your film to Xfinity and potentially other VOD outlets.
- Xfinity will partner with Homestead to create or identify key press and marketing opportunities for select filmmakers as we see fit.
